Please do not close Jyväskylän Lyseo. It is a great institution of learning, which has helped me, an American artist, to understand the Finnish people and culture. I have worked there three times as an English teacher, and I am very proud to say that I, in some humble way, can also claim to be a Lyseolainen and that Jyväskylän Lyseo has made me a better person. I have been in touch with some of my pupils over the years, and I am fascinated at what an interesting group of people they have become, working in many professional fields. They are individuals and yet they are decidedly Finnish, and everyone of them, I'm sure, would say that Jyväskylän Lyseo has been and always will be a positive influence on their lives and how they live in and perceive their society. Save this great institution. Let Jyväskylän Lyseo continue it's important work.
